How We Work

At Sunset Interior Design we offer all our customers a completely bespoke service tailored to their individual requirements.

We work on projects of all sizes, large and small, and our input and involvement in any project obviously varies depending upon the overall size of the project and our customers' preferences.

However, we thought it would be useful if we explained the stages involved in a typical, medium-sized interior design project so you can clearly understand how we work.

For smaller projects the process can be shorter and simpler and, likewise, for larger projects the process will be as comprehensive as the project demands.

For this example, focusing on a typical, medium-sized interior design project, the process will follow the stages shown as you scroll down this page.

First Contact

When you first contact us via telephone, you can expect a friendly, no pressure and no obligation conversation with Linda, proprietor of Sunset Interior Design, to discuss your requirements.

We are happy to spend time discussing your plans, options and our services on the phone to help you make the decisions involved to pursue your project. At this stage you can then decide whether or not you would like Sunset Interior Design to help you realise your desired results.

If you would like us to help, we would then arrange a
consultation at your premises, at your earliest convenience.
The consultation process is described in the next section below.

Initial Interior Design Consultation

Our initial consultation takes place on site and will last as long as necessary until everything is covered to your satisfaction.

We will bring our portfolio with us so you can see our previous work. We will visit and discuss the spaces involved in the proposed project and discuss your ideas for the styling, mood, feel, colours, usage and your overall likes and dislikes.
We will clarify if any existing furniture and fittings etc are
to stay in the new design.

We can then make initial suggestions and discuss them with you and decide how much involvement you would like from us.

We will take a full set of notes from our discussions and accurately measure up and take photos of the spaces involved and confirm your budget for the project.

Quotation For Interior Designs

Following our initial consultation, we will then summarise and
write up our discussions and suggestions and create a plan
of action for you.

In this example, our first task on the action plan will be to produce an initial set of designs based upon our consultation. These will typically include floor plans, mood boards, samples and
professional, high quality 3D images of the proposed
design, depending on your requirements.

A written quote for producing these designs and allowing for a set number of subsequent alterations will be sent to you for checking all the details and signing before any work commences. We always make sure you are perfectly clear on the work we will be doing, all details are in writing and are correct, accepted and signed for.

The Design Cycle

Following production of the first set of designs, we will then arrange to visit you on site again to discuss these with you.
The designs, mood boards, samples, product listings and 3D computer images are yours to keep once they are paid for.

Following discussions with you on the designs, we will then make any requested alterations and arrange to visit you again once the new designs are complete. This design cycle will repeat until you are 100% satisfied with our design work.

Please note that we can also show you 3D computer walkthroughs of your new design at any stage to help you visualise things as clearly as possible. We will also use email, if desired, to speed up the design cycle process where appropriate.

The Final Design

Once the design cycle has been completed you will have a complete, final design including floor plans, 3D images, mood boards,
accessory boards, theme boards, samples and product listings,
all of which are yours to keep.

You can then decide if you would like to hire your own contractors, who will be able to work directly from the materials we have provided you, do the work yourself or have Sunset Interior Design project manage the entire process for you.

If you would like us to project manage the implementation of your design, we will provide you with a fully itemised quote for the complete service, which we can then discuss with you, make any amendments and sign off before commencing work.

Implementation and Project Management

Sunset Interior Design provide a complete, one-stop interior design service, from initial concepts right through to completion.

If you choose our services to implement your new designs, we will place and manage orders with suppliers and project manage all contractors for you where necessary, or work with your own contractors, to ensure everything goes smoothly. Regular site meetings are a standard part of this process.

We provide professional, high quality painting and decorating services ourselves.

We also provide personal shopping days to assist you in choosing your own products and accessories if desired.

We will help you save money by ensuring you get your desired results first time and that you benefit from the excellent discounts we can obtain from our suppliers.

Final Touches

Following the successful implementation of your new design, we will make sure the final presentation and staging of the design is correct.

We will discuss any helpful hints and tips with you in regard of maintenance of your new design.

We will also ask you to make a full and detailed inspection of the work undertaken and to highlight any issues at this stage.

Once you are 100% satisfied the project will be signed off and it will be time for you to start enjoying your new space.
